Guar is
an annual summer legume grown in India and Pakistan.
India has a major share i.e. around 85% of total Guar
production in the world. It is often used as forage for
cattle and as a vegetable for human consumption. It is
mostly grown in arid zone of Thar Desert, which is in
North Western region of India. The guar seed consists of
three parts: the germ, the endosperm and the husk. It is
from the endosperm that GUAR GUM is derived.
